Hello,

Here is more information on this D3 feature:

Allow a process to determine the participant involved in a message exchange at runtime instead of being fixed at design-time.

For example, a process could select one of several suppliers based on available parts, or best pricing.

This feature would be layered on the BPEL PartnerLink mechanism and allow dynamically selecting the content of a Partnerlink based on XPath expressions (using the mapper or manually-entered XPath).

Thanks,

Shao.

Hello,

Here is an update on the dynamic participants (dynamic partner links) support.

Intalio|BPMS release 5.2 (which will enter beta phase soon) supports assigning an endpoint reference (EPR) to a partnerLink at runtime. A common use case is as follows:

1) A business process calls the "log in" function of a web service, which returns a server URL and session ID.
2) The business process then uses the returned server URL as the endpoint for all subsequent calls to the web service.

For example, the above is how users need to invoke Salesforce.com web services.

The following is not yet supported:

a) assigning a partnerLink to another partnerLink
b) assigning a partnerLink to a variable

Use cases and d3 sponsorship are welcome to drive the development for the remaining feature!

Thanks,

Shao.
