BPMN 1.1 specification includes an event called \\\"signal event\\\" which is used as a listener for a multicast signal. Currently there is no executable implementation for this shape in Intalio|Designer and it exists in the palette for modeling purposes only.
The BPMN signal event is like a radio station and radio receiver. A message is broadcast to all who are currently listening, but there is no specific intended participant. Any participant can \\\"subscribe\\\" to the event.
Signal events can be very useful in synchronizing the execution of concurrent process branches and in coordinating their collaboration.
We have received multiple requests for this enhancement. Please contact if this is of interest and/or you are available to sponsor the development.
